Dog Training

Newman’s Dog Training can help get you and your k9 back on the right path. We will create a customized plan and give you all the dog training tools you need to succeed. By the end of the training you will have confidence in your dog and knowledge on how to fix any problem behavior you have. We have three training options to choose from. In-home training where we come to you and teach you how to train your dog. Board and Train dog, where your dog lives with the trainer near you for 2 to 4 weeks while they learn their commands and house manners. Lastly, we offer Day Training, where the trainer works with your dog 3 times a week from your home. No matter what you choose, you will be an important part of the training process since we are ultimately working on building your relationship with your dog.
Puppy Training
Start your puppy off right!
Is your puppy having accidents in your home? Are they chewing on everything in sight? Is your puppy barking in the crate at night? Are you having trouble teaching them basic obedience commands?
We are here to help! We can teach you the best way to house train a puppy and so much more. We will lay out all the important milestones puppies go through as they grow and how to handle each growth spurt. View our Kansas City puppy training and our Northwest Arkansas puppy training programs!
You can choose to have us come to your home and teach you how to train your puppy, enroll them in a board and train program or day training program. Each of these will keep you involved in their training because at the end of the day we are teaching you how to have a strong relationship with your dog. The training program you choose will just depend on how much help you are wanting from your trainer.
Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
Exclusively offered in Kansas City!
Do you need your dog walked while you are at work? We can do a quick potty break or a longer walk to give them more exercise. Working from home and can’t get your dog out?
We can help! Are you going on vacation and need someone to stop by the house and take care of your pets while you are away? Not only will we feed and play with your pets, we will also make sure the house is up-kept by bringing in the mail, taking out the trash and watering your plants. For walking and pet sitting we service the Rivermarket to Waldo neighborhoods in Kansas City, Missouri. In Kansas we service Fairway, Mission Hills, Prairie Village, and Roeland Park. If you are outside of these neighborhoods, reach out to us and we will see if we can help.

Would you rather get the information and implement it yourself and get trainer help when you need it? Do you want to get your dog or puppy prepared to take the Canine Good Citizen test? Newman’s Dog Training has an online course that can fill all those needs and more. The online course has videos demonstrating the training with written instructions as well. When you are ready or when you need it, virtual training sessions are available with a trainer to help you and your dog get over the training hurdle.

Are you new to having cats and just need some guidance? Do you have two cats that don't get along? Is your cat having trouble using their litter box?
Newman’s Dog Training can help get your cat back on the right path. Your trainer will create a customized training plan for your cat and give you all the training tools you need to succeed.
We have a few options your can choose from. We can do cat training sessions where we teach you what to do or we can do Day Training where we come in and do the training for you. No matter which package you choose, you will know exactly how to train and respond to your cats behavior to lead a happy life with them.
Service Dog Training
We can train your current qualifying dog or a new puppy!
Service dogs play a big role in the quality of life for some individuals. We are proud to offer this service to you and your pet to reach your service dog goals.
We can evaluate your current dog to see if they qualify to go through the service dog training. If they are not a good fit or you don't have a dog we can help train a new dog or puppy to be your own service dog.
There are three levels of training to have a dog ready to be a service dog. The first level is to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. The second level is training them to pass the Public Access Test and to begin learning some service dog task. If you have children in volved or need specific tasks trained then you would move on the level three.

We will come to your home while you are on vacation and take care of all your cat or cats needs.
We will clean their litter box at each visit. Refresh their food and water. Your cat will get all the attention they desire while we are there.
We will also take care of your house by bringing in the mail, taking out the trash, and rotating blind and lights in the house.
