Our Maintenance Training Plans are designed for clients who have completed a training program and want continued support to keep their dog’s skills strong over time.
These sessions reinforce existing behaviors. They are not for introducing new behaviors. If new behaviors arise, a new training package will be recommended.

What Maintenance Sessions Focus On
Maintenance sessions are designed to reinforce the training foundation your dog has already learned. These visits help keep behaviors reliable in real life situations and prevent old habits from creeping back in.
Loose Leash Walking
Practice calm walking in your neighborhood with the kinds of distractions your dog sees every day.
Reliable Recall
Strengthen your dog’s ability to come when called and stay engaged with you in distracting environments.
Impulse Control
Work on calmer behavior around doors, guests, greetings, food, and other everyday challenges.
Basic Obedience
Refresh sit, down, stay, place, focus, and other core skills that support daily life with your dog.
Small Regressions
Catch slipping habits early before they turn back into bigger training frustrations.
Real Life Practice
Apply training in parks, neighborhoods, sidewalks, and other places where your dog needs to succeed.

Have questions about how our mobile maintenance training works? We’ve answered the most common ones below to help you feel confident and prepared.
1. Who are maintenance training plans for?
Maintenance Training Plans are for clients who have already completed a training program with Newman's Dog Training. They are designed to help dogs maintain and strengthen skills they have already learned
2. Can I use a maintenance plan for a new behavior?
No. Maintenance plans are for reinforcing existing skills, not starting brand new behavior goals. If new concerns come up, we will recommend a regular training program instead.
3. What is the difference between monthly memberships and the maintenance pack?
The monthly memberships are best for ongoing accountability and consistent practice. The maintenance pack gives you more flexibility if you want continued support without a monthly commitment.
4. Do unused maintenance sessions roll over?
Monthly membership sessions can roll over for up to one month. Maintenance pack sessions expire within 6 months of purchase.
5. Do maintenance members get scheduling priority?
Yes. Clients on a monthly maintenance membership receive scheduling priority over punch card or maintenance pack clients.

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is a certification your dog can obtain to prove they know their commands and will behave in society. They will be tested on ten behaviors such as sit, down, walking on the leash, stay and more.
Not only will you be able to have a dog who knows their obedience behaviors but they will be an upstanding citizen in your communities.
May dogs who aspire to be Therapy dogs go through this certification or something very similar. Many hotels, landlords and other entities also recognize this certification and may allow your dog to visit when otherwise not able to.
Not only is Newman’s Dog Training a Certified Evaluator but we are also able to help you get your dog ready for the test!
